Alexander for Actors

A short video on The Alexander Technique in Performing Arts Education (Music and Acting)

Teaching both a private studio and on faculty in the Capilano University Theatre department, Mark helps actors access more of their potential for performance and health in their work.

Alexander Technique lessons with Mark teach you how to reduce excess tension; increase self-awareness; and enhance coordination, breathing, and balance/support in acting and the use of voice.

Actors use the Alexander Technique to help reduce performance anxiety, develop greater ease in posture, and to access deeper levels of presence on the stage and screen.

The Alexander Technique is used by countless artists including Judi Dench, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Cleese, Stella Adler, Leonardo DiCaprio, the late Alan Rickman and Heath Ledger, Hilary Swank, Sir Ian McKellen, Kevin Kline, Hugh Jackman, and is taught in the top performing arts schools including the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London, the Yale University School of Drama, and The Miller Healthcare Institute for Performing Arts NYC and many more.
